The Most In-Demand Property Types in Holloway

Holloway is becoming one of north London’s most notable property hotspots. It’s experienced significant regeneration over the last few years, yet homes remain affordable when compared to the city’s average.

If you’re thinking of moving to Holloway, here’s a run-through of the most desirable property types on the market right now.

The most sought-after properties in Holloway

Period townhouses

If you’ve got a generous budget and are looking for a home that offers the ‘wow factor’, Holloway’s Victorian and Georgian townhouses are sure to be of interest.

These properties are typically semi-detached or terraced, with terraced homes usually consisting of three or more storeys. Some also come with driveways and gardens; a huge plus for a city location. As you’d expect, they also offer original features, elegant brick facades with bay windows, and some have been modernised internally, creating largescale open-plan living space.

Luxury apartments

Developers have been active in Holloway, and as such, there are several luxury apartments on the market. These flats are sometimes situated in converted period buildings, or in purpose-built blocks. They command a higher price-tag, but in return, you’ll benefit from high spec fixtures and fittings, and plenty of socialising space inside.

1920s family homes

If you’re searching for a generously sized property, but don’t want to pay a premium, Holloway’s 1920s family homes are a great option. The semi-detached houses are typically more expensive, with the terraced options offering similar internal dimensions, at a more affordable price.

These properties usually come with driveways and gardens, plus three bedrooms or more. As such, they’re the ideal choice for growing families.

Modern flats

Holloway’s property market is dominated by apartments, and these typically offer great value for money. They’re often in purpose-built blocks, in excellent locations close to transport links and local amenities.

These modern flats not only have plenty of bedrooms, but also generous living and dining areas too. It’s not uncommon for them to have a balcony or terrace too.

Smaller terraces / maisonettes

Looking for a home that offers a good level of space, without paying out too much money? If so, the best option is a Victorian terrace or maisonette. These properties may look smaller from the front, but many go back a surprising way, offering generous lounges, kitchens and dining areas, and two to three bedrooms.

They’ve also got character and charm, and typically have on-street parking outside, plus some sort of outdoor space (usually a small garden or courtyard).

Studio and one-bedroomed apartments

Those working to a budget will appreciate the wealth of affordable studio apartments, which provide proximity to everything the area has to offer, without spending a fortune. Many of these properties use the available space cleverly; maintaining an airy, spacious feel throughout.

If you’re a first-time buyer, these apartments are a great investment for the future, as (like all Holloway’s properties) they’re likely to go up in value over time.
